Setting Up Your Blueprint Job: Files, Materials, and Proofing

When you’re ready to send us your blueprint, we work best with PDF, DWG, or DWF files. If you have vector linework or a high-resolution raster image, those work just fine too. Please make sure all layers are flattened and any external references (“xrefs”) are either bound or included with your file. For multi-sheet sets, combine them into a single PDF with pages in the correct order, or send each sheet as a separate file with a clear naming convention. We accept files via email, our website upload form, or on a flash drive dropped off at the shop.

We print blueprints on bond paper (standard 20 lb. or heavier 24 lb.) and also offer vellum for reproductions that need a translucent base. All materials are roll-fed, so we can handle widths up to 36 inches on most jobs, and lengths up to whatever your drawing calls for. For presentation-quality prints, we can use 24 lb. bright white bond; for working sets, the standard 20 lb. is more than adequate.

• Turnaround: Most single-sheet blueprints are ready same-day if we receive your file by noon. Multi-sheet sets or complex orders may take 24–48 hours. We’ll give you a specific time when we confirm your order.
• Proofing: Before we run the full job, we’ll send you a digital proof for review. For large-format work, that proof is a low-resolution PDF showing the entire sheet. You approve it by email or in person. If you need a physical proof on actual bond paper, we can print one off and text you a photo—just ask when you place the order.
